We understand that orthodontic treatment is an investment, and we believe you should have total confidence in the people you will entrust with designing your smile. We see your new patient consultation - whether it is in one of our private state-of-the-art consult rooms or in the comfort of your own home during a Virtual Smile Consultation - as our opportunity to "wow" you with the Newell Orthodontics experience and to ensure you are fully educated about your treatment options.

Your complimentary consultation will give you the opportunity to meet Dr. Bill Newell and our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete orthodontic evaluation, find out whether orthodontic treatment is recommended, and, if so, which treatment options will best meet your needs.

In-Office New Patient Consultation

During your first visit to our office, we will:

Introduce you to our team members and give you a tour of our office
Perform a thorough orthodontic evaluation, including digital X-rays and photographs of your teeth and face
Discuss whether orthodontic treatment is recommended by Dr. Newell and, if so, determine the most appropriate time to begin treatment
Create a customized orthodontic treatment plan that’s tailored to meet your specific needs and desires
Explain your orthodontic insurance benefits and design a payment plan that fits your budget
Answer any questions you may have
Complete your diagnostic records, if you are ready to begin treatment

At-Home Virtual Smile Consultation

In preparation for your Virtual Smile Consultation, we ask that you take a series of 8 photos of your smile and send them to us at virtualsmile@newellorthodontics.com before your appointment time.

Taking your photos is easy! All you need is good lighting, two spoons and a family member or friend with a camera or phone to take your photos. For a quick tutorial on how to take your photos, please watch our helpful video:

After we receive your photos, we will send you a link via email or text with instructions for how to join us virtually at your scheduled appointment time.

During your Virtual Smile Consultation, we will:

Introduce you to Dr. Newell and our Treatment Coordinator
Perform a thorough orthodontic evaluation using the photographs of your teeth and face
Create a customized orthodontic treatment plan that’s tailored to meet your specific needs and desires
Explain your orthodontic insurance benefits and design a payment plan that fits your budget
Answer any questions you may have
Schedule a visit to our office to complete your digital X-rays and digital scan

What happens next?

Once your diagnostic records and treatment plan are complete, we will schedule your first appointment to put your braces on or deliver your first set of Invisalign® aligners. Your first appointment generally lasts one hour and is one of our longer appointment times.

After you begin treatment, your orthodontic appointments will typically be scheduled every 6 to 10 weeks, and they generally last between 20 and 30 minutes. Our team makes it a priority to see every patient on time, and we will work with you to make sure your appointments are as convenient as possible.

Dr. Newell and our clinical team will visit with you during each appointment and will update you on the progress of your treatment throughout your orthodontic journey.
